The 77th annual WAPOR (World Association for Public Opinion Research) conference was recently held — a significant event that brought together leading researchers from around the world, creating a unique atmosphere of knowledge exchange.

The Rating Sociological Group participated in this important event for the second time. This year, we traveled over 15,000 kilometers to present our research at the conference in Seoul, South Korea. Although we were the only representatives from Ukraine, we proudly showcased Ukrainian sociology to the world.

The Deputy Director of the Rating Sociological Group, Tetiana Skrypchenko, together with colleagues, presented the results of a new longitudinal survey conducted in partnership with the University of Michigan.

“Our collaboration with the University of Michigan, established at last year's conference, is extremely valuable to us. We were delighted to meet our partners again this year and hope to continue developing the longitudinal project on Ukrainian children in Ukraine and abroad. Special thanks to William G. Axinn and Stephanie Chardoul for their invaluable support,” shared Tetiana Skrypchenko.

Our second presentation at the annual WAPOR conference showcased a unique study conducted in collaboration with UNICEF, where we surveyed over 25,000 parents and adolescents in 27 demined communities.

On behalf of the Rating Group, Mrs. Skrypchenko expressed special gratitude to William G. Axinn and Stephanie Chardoul for their invaluable support.

The study focused on mine safety awareness and safe behavior practices among parents and children, made possible by the development of a child-friendly survey toolkit by Rating Lab.

The second presentation by the Rating Group at WAPOR-2024 was dedicated to a unique study conducted in collaboration with UNICEF.

Experts from various countries were impressed by the detail, scale, and complexity of the sociological survey of adolescents conducted by the Rating Group in war conditions.

The research was conducted by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine and the Rating Group research company as part of the European Union's humanitarian aid.

This conference was another step forward for the Rating Group and Ukrainian sociology as a whole, strengthening international ties and highlighting the importance of our work.
